# Kaltura review

A serious enterprise webinar-and-events engine wrapped in a much bigger video platform, worth it only when webinars are a **core, high-volume** channel.

## The take

- **Great for:** Enterprise marketing and events teams running **branded webinars and virtual events** at scale, who want heavy branding, first-party data, and lead scoring piped into Marketo or HubSpot.
- **The catch:** **Ease of use and support** are its two weakest reviewed dimensions, and you are really licensing two products, Webinars and Events, inside a sprawling video suite.
- **Bottom line:** Reach for it when **webinars are a core GTM channel** and you already run enterprise. For a single cheap webinar tool, it is more platform than the job needs.

## Specs

- **Starting price:** $150/mo (Webinars Business, billed annually)
- **Free tier:** No (demo/trial on some products)
- **Pricing model:** Mostly quote-based, per product
- **Best for:** Enterprise webinar and virtual-event teams
- **Key integrations:** Marketo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Eloqua, Pardot
- **Watch out for:** Ease of use and support responsiveness

## What you're actually getting

Kaltura is a broad **enterprise video platform** that a marketing team can run GTM on, and most of its surface sits outside the marketer's daily job. For a GTM reader, two products matter: Kaltura Webinars and Kaltura Events, plus the newer Agentic Avatars.
Webinars run **branded, revenue-framed sessions** with auto-generated landing pages, generative-AI page assistance, live and simulive formats, breakout rooms, Q&A, and on-demand recording from one interface.
Its roots are **education and enterprise video**, so video portals, virtual classrooms, media management, and LMS integrations make up the bulk of the suite a demand-gen team will never touch.

## Where it earns its keep

The real payoff is **reliable, branded, large-scale video events** with first-party data capture, a lead-scoring report, and cross-webinar analytics that pass into Marketo, HubSpot, Eloqua, Pardot, and Salesforce.
The independent signal is strong. Forrester named Kaltura a **Leader** in The Forrester Wave: Virtual Event Management Platforms, Q2 2026, with the highest possible score in the audience-engagement criterion.
Review platforms back the reliability story: an **AWS-aggregated 4.3 across 115 reviews** and Capterra 4.1 across 35, with praise landing on uptime, LMS integration, and captioning.

## Where it'll bite you

**Ease of use is the recurring gripe.** Capterra's two lowest sub-scores are ease of use (3.9) and customer service (3.8), and reviewers describe glitchy uploads and an unfriendly UI.
**Support responsiveness is the other.** One webinar user reports animations that never render and breakout rooms she cannot enter, with countless reports to Kaltura that go unanswered.
The deeper trap is **scope**. A GTM buyer switches on maybe a fifth of the suite, so when webinars and events are not a core channel, a focused competitor will be faster and cheaper.

## What it costs, really

Webinars Business starts at **$150/month billed annually**, or $299 billed monthly, with 2 admins, 5 speakers, unlimited webinars, and 1,000 registrants on single-session webinars. Enterprise, Events, and Avatars are **custom quotes**.
Ignore the **$19/month** figure on Capterra. It does not match Kaltura's own pricing and reads as an old media-hosting artifact, so budget for a real enterprise quote once events and avatars enter the picture.

## Reach for it / skip it

- **Reach for it if:** Enterprise marketing and events teams that run high-volume branded webinars and virtual events and already live in Marketo, HubSpot, or Salesforce.
- **Skip it if:** You need a fast, cheap, single-purpose webinar tool. A focused competitor will be lighter and less quote-driven.

## What real users said

- "Kaltura is a reliable and high-quality media management system. Its uptime is very good" -- Mike P., AWS Marketplace
- "I think Kaltura could be improved by providing clearer instructions or tools to record for the average person who has no idea what technology is. It is pretty intuitive if you work in that field daily, but it can be confusing if it is foreign to you." -- reviewer2841774, PeerSpot
