AI market and competitive intelligence

Last updated August 23, 2026
The take

An AI market-intelligence feed that turns a firehose of news into decision-ready briefs, worth it when a real CI function will tune it.

Great for

Strategy, product marketing, and CI teams tracking many competitors and markets who want news, filings, and social folded into one curated feed.

The catch

It needs setup before it pays off. Value stays low until the taxonomy, views, and filters are dialed in, and that takes weeks of tuning.

Bottom line

Reach for it when a dedicated analyst owns the build. If you want cheap plug-and-play competitor tracking, it is more platform than you need.

What you're actually getting

Contify is an AI market and competitive intelligence platform. It pulls from over a million curated sources, news, company websites, SEC filings, and social, plus custom sources like regulatory portals and job boards, and covers 117-plus languages.

The output is a curated feed organized by entity and theme: product launches, funding, partnerships, M&A. You can fold in your own internal sources too, from SharePoint docs to Gong call transcripts.

The AI layer is branded Athena, with a conversational module called Ask Athena that answers plain-language questions over your data. Athena also auto-builds SWOTs, battlecards, and dashboards from templates.

I appreciate how Contify consolidates updates and provides them efficiently to my team through email and Slack, ensuring everyone is informed promptly. The AI summaries and automated insights feature are particularly helpful as they gather information from diverse sources and present ready-to-use insights useful for various dashboards and battle cards.

Where it earns its keep

It shines when the job is watching many competitors and markets without drowning. The feed covers the full breadth of your competitor set, then filters down to what actually matters once it is tuned.

The delivery is the draw. Updates land where the team already works, email and Slack, so competitive moves reach reps and PMMs without anyone refreshing a portal.

Third-party validation is real: G2 sits at 4.5 across 116 reviews, and Gartner named Contify a Visionary in its inaugural 2026 Magic Quadrant for competitive and market intelligence platforms.

What we like most is how Contify can cover the breadth of our landscape without overwhelming users. It pulls in press releases, news, marketing content, and other public output, and then filters it down to what actually matters.

Where it'll bite you

The ramp is the trap. Reviewers are consistent that value is thin until the taxonomy, views, and filters are configured, and that it took time to get comfortable. Budget internal enablement, plus the license.

Give one analyst ownership of the setup and a first 30 days to tune relevance before you judge the feed. A raw, untuned feed reads like noise.

There is no contact database here. It is pure research, so pair it with your data provider for prospecting. The UI also draws the odd knock for feeling dated, and contracts are annual, so pilot during the trial before you sign.

The analytics are easy to understand, and I like the conversation-based AI module. It was a little hard to understand at first, and it definitely took some time to get used to.

What it costs, really

Pricing is a custom quote, annual and enterprise, with no public rate card. There is a 7-day free trial to test relevance before you talk numbers.

Budget for a five-figure annual commitment at the low end, based on unverified buyer anecdotes. The number scales with sources, users, and how much custom taxonomy and analyst support you add, so confirm it in the quote.

If someone logs in expecting a simple, generic news feed, they might miss the power of the structure behind it. It requires some internal enablement to get comfortable with that.
