Lightweight, fast relationship-first CRM

Last updated August 19, 2026
The take

The CRM your team will actually keep current, as long as your motion runs on long-cycle relationships and you can live without workflow automation and forecasting.

Great for

Founders, agencies, and partnership teams who live in LinkedIn and email and want a CRM they'll open every morning instead of dread.

The catch

Deals, sequences, and API sit behind Premium at $48/seat, and enrichment plus email sends carry monthly caps that heavy users hit fast.

Bottom line

Reach for it when the unit of work is a relationship across a long cycle. Skip it the moment you need workflow automation, forecasting, or a real mobile experience.

What you're actually getting

folk is a relationship-first CRM built around contacts as the primary object. You capture people from LinkedIn, Gmail, WhatsApp, and 7+ other sources with the folkX Chrome extension, and the workspace auto-merges and enriches them.

The interface reads like a smart spreadsheet, close to Notion or Airtable, with groups, list views, and a kanban pipeline you can drag. A small team is live in under an hour.

Four AI assistants sit on top: Research, Workflow, Follow-up, and Recap. They draft outreach, summarize interactions, and flag stale threads, leaning on Perplexity and People Data Labs for enrichment.

Just wrote up my experience ditching my janky homemade CRM system for folk CRM. Spoiler: it's actually good and the LinkedIn integration is chef's kiss. I think it's perfect for early stage startups. (YMMV)

Where it earns its keep

It earns its keep for relationship-led motions that span months or years: agency client tracking, VC deal flow, partnership pipelines, founder networking. The folkX extension is genuinely one of the best LinkedIn-to-CRM capture tools in this price range.

The AI assistants do real busywork. Magic Fields auto-fill columns from public data, and the Follow-up assistant scans email and WhatsApp for people you've gone quiet on.

G2 sits at 4.5 across 318+ reviews, with ease of setup and the LinkedIn workflow named most often as the reason people stay.

The interface is gorgeous. It feels like Notion and Airtable had a baby, making it actually enjoyable to use compared to clunky legacy CRMs. The Chrome extension is a game-changer. You can pull profiles directly from LinkedIn or Twitter into your workspace in one click. If you have a massive enterprise team with complex reporting needs, it might feel a bit too "light." It requires a bit of an upfront time investment to set up the automations correctly.

Where it'll bite you

No native workflow automation on any plan. There are trigger-based emails, but no conditional logic, no automated lead routing, no stage-based actions. Teams scaling outbound past manual sends hit a wall no upgrade fixes.

The real entry price is higher than the headline. Deals, custom objects, sequences, dashboards, and API access all live on Premium at $48/seat, so a team that needs any of those doubles its bill.

Reporting stays thin compared with HubSpot or Pipedrive, and enrichment plus email sends carry monthly caps. folk shipped a mobile app in 2026, but reviewers still call the desktop the real product, so weigh that if your team works away from a desk.

Fed up with HubSpot, moved to folk. Founders looking for an easier to use and cheaper CRM, I rate it so far...

What it costs, really

Three per-seat tiers, about 20% cheaper billed annually. Standard is $24/seat/mo annual ($30 monthly), Premium is $48 ($60 monthly), Enterprise starts at $80 ($100 monthly). No free plan, just a 14-day trial with no card.

Standard includes 500 contact enrichments and 2,000 Magic Field runs a month, and Premium roughly doubles those. The bill climbs with seats and credit ceilings, so a three-person team on Premium pays about $144/month before any overage, and high-volume outreach teams feel the caps first.

We recently started using folk and couldn't be more excited, the best CRM with a perfect LinkedIn integration.

We have been using this CRM for a while. Good example of a small disruptive company that keeps adding value to their product. I originally chose them because they were doing obvious time saving actions that other bigger CRMs just didn't do.
