Real-time company and people data API

Last updated August 20, 2026
The take

Real-time company and people data through an API, worth it when engineers own the integration and watch the credit meter.

Great for

Dev teams and GTM engineers building AI agents or custom pipelines who want live people and company data without a stale cached database.

The catch

No published plan prices and no point-and-click UI. Anyone who can't read API docs has no path in, and budget forecasting means talking to sales.

Bottom line

Reach for it when engineering owns the data layer. If you want a prospecting app a rep can open, this is the wrong shape.

What you're actually getting

Crustdata is a data API. You call REST endpoints to search, enrich, and watch people and company records, and the results land in whatever you build on top.

The differentiator is live indexing. Records are re-verified continuously and served fresh at query time, and a Watcher API pushes webhook alerts on job changes, funding rounds, and hiring spikes.

Coverage runs to 1B+ people and 60M+ companies from 15+ sources, with 90+ datapoints on a person and 250+ on a company. There is no dashboard to click through. The MCP server drops the whole graph into Claude or Cursor in one line.

Where it earns its keep

It earns its place when real-time signals drive the workflow. Champion tracking, deal sourcing, trigger-based outreach, pre-call briefs, all run on fresh data that a batch-refreshed provider can't supply.

The MCP integration is the second win. Sales and recruiting teams run prospecting inside Claude through natural-language prompts, with Claude picking the right endpoint and building the query.

Developers consistently call the API clean, fast, and well-documented, and integration speed is the most-cited strength on Product Hunt (4.4 across 14 reviews).

Feels like a solid growth enabler if the data quality holds up. Real-time updates are gold for GTM workflows, less chasing, more building. Curious how clean their enrichment actually is in practice though.

Where it'll bite you

Pricing is the first trap. The pricing page lists no named tiers and no per-credit dollar rate. The vendor's own blog cites a $95/mo floor, third-party estimates run $200 to $5k+, and the heavier live endpoints sit behind an enterprise gate. Budget forecasting means a sales call.

The UI gap is the second. Anyone who can't read API docs has no access path. There is no Zapier, no Make, no native CRM connector. Lean RevOps teams without an engineer inherit an integration they can't maintain.

Credits expire in 6 months, and a full person record runs 1 to 7 credits depending on what you ask for. A Watcher pipeline in production burns through free credits faster than you expect. There is also no phone-number data, so layer in a separate provider for dialing.

Super powerful for GTM teams, but I can't help thinking about how much noise it could create if you're not careful with filtering. Still, APIs that keep your data fresh in real time? Pretty neat for building smarter, reactive tools.

What it costs, really

The pricing page lists no named tiers and no per-credit dollar rate. The vendor's own blog names a $95/mo floor, and third-party estimates put real usage at $200 to $5k+ a month depending on volume.

Credit costs are published per endpoint: search at 0.03 credits per result, person enrich 1 to 7, company enrich 2 to 4. Credits expire 6 months after purchase, and the live professional-network endpoints sit behind an enterprise gate. Price your own pilot before trusting any third-party number.

I can see it being solid for GTM teams, instant updates mean you can react fast. I'd be curious about latency and how clean the API is; nothing kills a dev's vibe faster than messy endpoints. Overall, seems like a tool that respects performance... which I always appreciate.
