Postiz
Schedule social posts to 25+ channels from one calendar, fully open source with AI drafting built in.
The most ambitious open-source social scheduler, posting to 25+ networks from one shared calendar with nothing withheld from people who host it themselves. The tradeoff: connecting business accounts, platform approvals, and thin community support make the DIY route a project for patient tinkerers.
25+ channels including LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, and Reddit, all schedulable from one calendar under a fully open license.
Ships fast: fixes and new network support merge almost daily, and the team responds to feature requests.
Account connections drop and need reconnecting, and community support is stretched thin when they do.
Business-account approvals for Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn are on you and can take weeks.
What it does
- Queues and schedules posts across 25+ networks, including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Pinterest, Discord, and Telegram, from one calendar
- Drafts, rewrites, and generates post images with a built-in AI content assistant
- Runs team workspaces with roles and per-client separation, so agencies and pods share accounts safely
- Connects to automation tools through a public API, so scheduled posting slots into your broader workflow automations
- Hosts-it-yourself option is complete; every capability in the paid cloud exists in the open version
- Reports post-performance analytics and includes an editor with media upload, alt text, and thumbnails
What it can’t do
- Bypass platform rules; Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn still require business accounts and app approvals you arrange yourself
- Keep YouTube connected without upkeep; its connection expires weekly unless you complete Google's app review process
- Reschedule through its public automation interface; bulk changes require workarounds
- Hold posts for human approval before publishing; it posts directly, with no draft-only hand-off mode
- Avoid datacenter IP blocks; there is no built-in proxy support if you host it on rented servers
Pros & cons
- Fully open license with zero features withheld from self-hosters
- Channel coverage that no other open-source scheduler matches
- Near-daily development, with new providers and fixes landing constantly
- Automation hooks make it a strong backbone for programmatic posting
- Large community and one-click cloud templates, plus a hosted option if DIY gets old
- First-time setup trips up many users with confusing configuration errors
- Channel disconnections and expired logins recur for self-hosters
- Support is thin; community questions often go unanswered and hundreds of issues sit open
- When a social network changes its rules, posting breaks until someone patches it
- Platform app approvals for Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn are slow paperwork left entirely to you
- Some users suspect the hosted product gets priority over the free version
Recently fixed
Pulled from the repo’s closed issues and PRs. A live project fixes things in public; a dead one doesn’t.
- feature feat: granular role based access control
- feature feat: TikTok Business provider
- fix fix: anchor recycles to the publish schedule with post.workflow.v1.0.7
- fix fix(facebook): map page-permission (code 190) errors to a curated message
- fix fix: make frontend and NestJS logs reach Sentry
- fix fix(org-switcher): keep dropdown clickable above modal screens
- fix fix(calendar): surface the real publish error in the calendar tooltip
- fix fix(x): correct character counting for t.co URL shortening
What the community says
Working fine for me, app not approved for Pinterest, Reddit and TikTok, X connected but not able to post, everything else running fine. Support doesn't exist pretty much; there are too many users and not enough staff.
