The **easiest open-source survey platform to self-host**, with genuinely nice in-app, website, and link surveys that reach product-feedback jobs Typeform and Google Forms cannot. The catch is open-core: the survey editor is fully free under AGPL, but **SSO, team roles, multi-language, and removing the branding need a paid Enterprise license key** even on your own server.

## What it does

- Builds in-app and website surveys that fire on user actions, so you catch product feedback and NPS at the exact moment inside your own app
- Runs shareable link surveys and email surveys from the same editor, covering the standalone-form job that Typeform and Google Forms handle
- Targets surveys to specific user groups and segments without shipping new application code, driven by attributes and events you send in
- Self-hosts on your own servers with a single Docker image and Postgres, keeping every response on your infrastructure for privacy and compliance
- Connects to Slack, Notion, Zapier, n8n, and more, plus webhooks, a REST API, and JS, React Native, iOS, and Android SDKs to embed and pipe data out
- Pulls responses into a Unify Feedback store with dashboards and Workflows, so the platform reaches beyond a form builder into experience management

## What it can't do

- Give you SSO, SAML, OIDC, team roles, or contact segmentation on the free build; those are Enterprise Edition features that stay locked without a paid license key, even when you host it yourself
- Remove the Formbricks branding or send white-label email follow-ups without the Enterprise license, so the free self-host carries the vendor's name
- Run multi-language surveys on the community edition; multilingual survey support is gated behind the same Enterprise key
- Match the depth of a heavy market-research tool like Qualtrics or LimeSurvey for complex question logic and advanced survey methodology
- Take drive-by community pull requests freely; the team currently facilitates outside code contributions only as an exception, so this is not a hack-on-it-yourself project
- Install and upgrade itself; self-hosting is real Docker, Postgres, backup, and patching work, and the free cloud tier caps monthly responses if you want to skip that
